FAQ

How to be a participating artist

A:
Everyone is welcome to participate in the 2018 Frogtown Artwalk. There is no fee to exhibit your work.  You are welcome to open your studio or your house or to set up along the art walk route and display your work.  If you wish to be included in the official art walk map and on the website, you will need to join the Elysian Valley Arts Collective (EVAC), and to pay membership dues.  You can do both by using the “JOIN” tab at the top of the website. As a member, the EVAC will work with you to find a venue to display your work during the event if you do not have a studio or house along the route.

How to be a participating venue

A:

The Elysian Valley Arts Collective invites businesses and homeowners along the art walk route to participate in the event by hosting an artist.  If you have a wall (or three), some tables or a courtyard that you would like to offer up to an artist for their work, please use the “JOIN” tab at the top of the website and select “Join as a Venue”.

How to be a participating vendor

There is no fee to be a vendor at the 2018 Frogtown Artwalk.  You are welcome to set up anywhere along the art walk route to sell your wares. If you wish to be included in the official art walk map and on the website, you will need to join the Elysian Valley Arts Collective, and to pay membership dues.  You can do both by using the “JOIN” tab at the top of the website, and select “Join as a Vendor”.

Where is Frogtown?

A:

The neighborhood of Elysian Valley, also known as Frogtown, is located on the west bank of the Los Angeles River, between Fletcher Dr, and Figueroa Street, and between the Los Angeles River and Riverside Drive. The area is served by the 96 bus, by the Metro Gold Line, and is accessible by bicycle from the Los Angeles River path.

Do I need to purchase tickets ahead of time?

A:

No. The Frogtown Artwalk is a free, self-guided event, and there are no tickets required.

Will there be parking?

A:

Parking is extremely limited in the area. Do not plan to drive your personal vehicle. There are a few disabled parking spaces available at Marsh Park, 2944 Gleneden St.

Can I bring my bicycle?

A:

Yes, this event is perfect for bicycling. There will be secure bike valet areas so that you can leave your bicycle and walk around once you arrive.

Is this a family-friendly event?

A:

Yes. There will be many activities geared for children (in the past we have had a hula hoop contest, a chalk-walk, and various games). Check back for more information on kid-oriented events planned for 2018.
